WIT’s ‘Totally Free Market’ – at the Go West! Fest – Thurs. – Sat. (Aug. 9-11)

WIT’s ‘Totally Free Market’ – at the Go West! Fest – Thurs. – Sat. (Aug. 9-11)

Wilmington In Transition’s (THAT’S US!) “Totally Free Market” is back!

Please join in the fun at the “Go West! Fest” – on Union St. from 5-9 pm, Thurs. 08/09, and Fri. 08/10 – then from Noon – 9pm on Sat., 08/11.   (yes – that’s THIS week!)

WIT reprises it’s ever popular Totally Free Market (a.k.a. ‘Bazaar Exchange’ or ‘Free Store’) – in the new meeting space at The Flats (across from Mrs. Robino’s on 6th & Union). “”

So.. please bring any useful, unwanted items to donate (nothing too big to carry) and/or just come join us and take home that thing you’ve been looking for, or just discovered you could use!  Everything is FREE.   We could also use some help with just ‘minding the store’ – which doesn’t involve much more than chatting with people. It’s FUN!  🙂
You can drop stuff off starting @ 4pm tomorrow – or when the store is open * 5-9pm Thurs. & Fri. (possibly during the day on Friday, too – if we have some volunteers to hang out) – or before 5pm on Sat.   ** please keep in mind, anything not taken by the end of the event must be hauled away by us – so, keep it real **

We do this to encourage a sharing community – and to keep stuff out of the landfill.
Our motto is:  BUY LESS & SHARE MORE!
About the Festival….

We are celebrating our success in adding a bike lane, back-in diagonal parking (better use of space and more spots), and narrowing the Union St. driving lanes from 3, to 2 – an outcome directly tied to the success of 3 years of ‘Better Block Wilmington’ – a volunteer collaboration of which WIT has been a key partner!  Woot, Woot! (change is good!!!)

This year’s fest includes outdoor dining at many restaurants, park-lets, live music, a pop-up local art gallery, assorted activities – and a bike parade in the new bike lane!
